SINOPSIS:

Estamos en 1970. En España, el franquismo daba sus últimos coletazos, pero los treinta años de dictadura habían hecho mella en nuestra forma de ser y de comportarnos.

En aquel ambiente, Manuel Delgado Villegas “el arropiero” sobresalió de la página habitual de sucesos. Era visto como un ser maligno y los medios de comunicación lo convertían en el circo sin pan de un país que luchaba por salir de su particular hoyo.

Los protagonistas de esta historia son habitantes del pueblo del “Arropiero”; un pueblo pequeño de aquella España cerrada en sus costumbres, donde sus vecinos se verán afectados por las noticias que llegan desde la capital, incapaces de aceptar que «el mayor asesino de la historia de España» haya nacido bajo sus tejados. Los cinco clientes habituales del bar de Paco intentarán debatir sobre este hecho y, de paso, nos ayudarán a conocer un poco más al insigne asesino… y, también, a ellos mismos.

SYNOPSIS:

It’s 1970. In Spain, Franco’s regime was in its final stages, but the thirty years of dictatorship had taken their toll on our way of being and behaving. In that environment, Manuel Delgado Villegas, «El Arropiero,» stood out from the usual news coverage. He was seen as an evil being, and the media turned him into the bread-and-butter circus of a country struggling to climb out of its own hole. The protagonists of this story are residents of the town of «El Arropiero,» a small town in that Spain with its closed-off traditions, where its residents will be affected by the news coming from the capital, unable to accept that «the greatest murderer in the history of Spain» was born under their roofs. The five regulars at Paco’s bar will try to debate this event and, in the process, help us learn a little more about the notorious murderer… and, also, about themselves.
